Impact Stories
Fatima’s Story: A Second Chance at Life
Fatima Yusuf, a 52-year-old widow from rural Kaduna, had been suffering from severe fatigue and swelling for years, unable to afford proper medical care. When Dohal Medical Outreach visited her village, she finally received the attention she needed. Diagnosed with congestive heart failure, Fatima was given life-saving treatment and enrolled in a follow-up care program. Today, she’s back on her feet—farming, caring for her family, and even volunteering at Dohal outreaches. “I feel like I was brought back from the brink,” she says. “Without Dohal, I don’t think I’d still be here.”
Isaac’s Story: Healing Beyond the Hospital
Isaac, a 38-year-old carpenter from a remote village in Plateau State, had lived with chronic back pain for years after a work injury. With no access to proper medical care, he relied on herbs and rest—until the pain left him unable to work or provide for his family. When Dohal Medical Outreach arrived in his community, Isaac received his first full medical assessment. He was diagnosed with a spinal strain and started on treatment and physical therapy guidance. Within weeks, Isaac regained mobility and returned to his workshop. “Dohal gave me more than medicine—they gave me my livelihood back,” he says with a smile.
